Nymphing Masterclass

The Association are pleased that Paul Gaskell and John Pearson are running a one day Nymphing Masterclass on our Broughton stretch of the River Aire, North Yorkshire, on Sunday 18th July 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Paul and John are the  duo behind ‘Fishing Discoveries’  and recently released the excellent book ‘The Fly Fishing Bible of Nymphing’.

In this day long masterclass  they will take you through:

  • Rigging – matching rigs to tactics & conditions
  • Reading the Water
  • Fly Selection (using simple ecology and animal behaviour)
  • Casting French leader rigs
  • Positioning yourself for stealth (using animal behaviour/biology)
  • Positioning yourself for presentation (drawing from the best anglers and angling schools from around the world)
  • Drift Control & drift Modification
  • Take Detection

The format will be instream demonstration followed by  guided practice.

This is an opportunity to learn from two masters of nymphing technique. There are fifteen places available, the fee is £60.
