River Wharfe – Appletreewick

See the Map below and/or Map Book page 9. You can buy a Map Book here, at a cost of £5 plus postage.

The Environment Agency provides on-line details of water levels at Grassington (about 5 miles upstream of our fishery), with regular updates.

The fishing is on the Left Bank, looking downstream, at the west end of the village of Appletreewick. The top and bottom limits are marked by notice boards.

Entrance to the fishing is through Mason’s car park field, at the bottom of the Caravan site – see the Map below.

Special Car Parking arrangements apply at this fishery – please see below.

Local Rules
1. Fishing is allowed from 25th March to the 14th March of the following year.
2. No keepnets are allowed.
3. Junior members must be accompanied by an adult member, for safety reasons.

Car Parking
There is no parking on the Appletreewick to Burnsall road, but members can park at Burnsall Bridge and walk down the footpath to the fishing.
Parking can also be had at Mason’s Campsite, at a cost of £3.50 per day. The site is open 8am-6pm from Easter to 31 October and 8am–8pm in school holidays. On arrival go to the office in the silver Airstream caravan in the Courtyard for directions about where to park.
Alternatively, members can park at Burnsall Bridge and walk down the river path to access BCAA fishing.

BCAA owns the fishing on the river. However, we depend on Mrs Mason’s goodwill to continue to be able to access our fishing easily. Do not open any gates, or enter any fields where the gate is closed, without express permission to do so. Please follow the instructions of Camp Site staff to make sure that BCAA Members’ permission to access the fishing is not withdrawn.
