River Aire - Funkirk and Niffany Farms

Brief description of fishery:
This game water consists of lengths of 700m on the left bank (facing downstream), and about 450m on the right bank (facing downstream).
Left Bank
Top limit is at the wall at OS ref SD 965 512 (see map) and the Bottom Limit is the point where the line of the disused railway meets the river. Two fields only.
Right Bank
Top limit is at the wall at OS ref SD 966 509 (see map) and the Bottom Limit is the point where the river meets Heslaker Lane. One field only.
Open for fishing:
25th March to the following 14th March.

After fishing please complete on-line Catch Returns for this water, it’s easy and helps with fishery development. Catch return input can also be done via the members section.
Special Rules for this fishery:
1. Fishing is by one rod, FLY ONLY from 25 March to 14th march the following year.
2. Worm or fly may be used for grayling fishing from 1 November to the following 14 March (inclusive), but no ledgering with worm is allowed at any time.
3. This fishery is Catch and Release only.
4. Only barbless hooks, or hooks where the barb has been crushed, may be used at this fishery at all times.
5. Only single hooks of size 12 or smaller are allowed. No double or treble hooks or wire traces to be used.
6. No angler may start fishing in front of an angler already fishing, without his permission.
7. Landing nets must be carried, and no keepnets may be used at any time.
8. When walking the fishery, please keep to the river bank, use stiles/gates close all gates and report to the Fly Secretary any damage to walls, fences or other installations which you see.

Access is via the stile from Heslaker Lane opposite the track 150 yards south-east of Funkirk Farm.
